Christmas 2008 part 3

We spent Christmas day at home with the Hobans. We woke up Christmas morning, had breakfast, then Auntie J came over and we all opened presents. After our nap, the rest of the family came over for lunch and more presents! The girls got more new clothes, toys and books!

Christmas 2008 part 2

On Christmas Eve, we went to Mimi & Pops house for dinner and presents. They got lots of new clothes, toys and books.
The girls were very good although they did have a little bit of a cold, and they passed out in the car on the way home. Good thing I got their jammies on before we left.

Christmas 2008 part 1

Yesterday was our Shea/Coutu Christmas, or we shall call it "Xmas08 p1."
It was a white xmas, we had at least 12" of snow and it was not over. The girls were happy everyone could make it!

14mo old

Today the girls are 14mo old! It amazes me how quickly they are growing up!
They have a whole bunch of teeth, Sofie is cutting her 4th molar and Maia is getting her 2nd.
Their vocabulary is increasing every day, they will pretty much repeat anything, which means Mommy needs to think before she speaks!
We are in the process of transitioning to one nap, and we are still nursing once a day.

Auntie J came to music class for the first time today and was able to get some pictures!

Tomorrow we are expecting our first snowstorm. The girls' snowsuits are ready and I will take some pictures when I toss them in a snowbank... I mean, when they play in the snow!

Santa

Today we went and saw Santa. The girls were very good, I was expecting them to scream but they liked him, they even said "Santa"!

Busy Busy

We have a very busy week planned: playdates, playgroups, visitors, music class starts back up again and storytime!

The girls have been boycotting naps and waking during the night so I am thinking I might try dropping to one nap. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

We have a few new words: Dodie (Sofie), Ia (Maia), cheese, yum, 'stis? & 'stat? (whats this, whats that, who is that), 'are you? (where are you), vava (water).

Today we put the Christmas tree up and the lights on, tomorrow we will decorate it. We also had our first snow this morning, they got to watch the snow while they ate breakfast!

Happy Thanksgiving

The cold weather and rain has kept us housebound and oddly enough a stomach ran is still running through the house. Sofie started throwing up early Thursday morning, fortunately it passed quickly and she was able to eat yummy turkey dinner. She was still a little moody but Auntie J was able to get some good pictures of her when she was happy.

Friday night around dinnertime, Maia got it. She threw up for about 4hrs straight and passed out watching Spongebob in my arms. And now poor Nana seems to have it.

In other news, Sofie has taken a couple steps unassisted and Maia has stood unassisted for a few seconds!

13mo update

It has been a while since I posted, these little girls have been keeping me busy!
We have been doing some visiting, we went to visit Mimi, Pops and Uncle Tim; we went to Uncle Pete and Auntie Emily's; and we went to Friendly's for the first time.

The story of the goldfish:

We went to Friendly's with Auntie J and the 2 little boys she watches. The girls were very well-behaved and loved seeing other kids.

Sofie

Maia

Maia has been doing some physical therapy for her gross motor skills delays. This week the therapist had her standing assisted, cruising and climbing!
Sofia is now standing unassisted and says 'BOOM' every time she falls down.

Sofie's new favorite word is 'moose', this should come as no surprise to anyone who has been to our house or met my mother.
Maia's new favorite song is Old McDonald and she sings 'E-I-E-I' all the time.
If you ask them what a pig, sheep, and cow say, they will make their sounds.
Their Grampa taught them their age, if you ask them how old they are, they will hold up one finger.

We also dropped a nursing session last night. I replaced it with a sippy cup of warm milk. The girls didn't even seem to miss it which made me really sad, so we are now down to 1 nursing session a day, which I am in no hurry to drop and hopefully it will be the extra boost they need this winter to keep them from getting sick.
