I got a wakeup call this morning from my doctor, my ffn test came back positive! YAY!!
Fetal fibronectin -
It can be thought of as an adhesive or "biological glue" that binds the fetal sack to the uterine lining. It is an excellent biological marker of premature (preterm) delivery; a delivery before 37 weeks of gestation.
Fetal fibronectin "leaks" into the vagina if a preterm delivery is likely to occur and can be measured in a diagnostic test. When the FFN test is considered positive, delivery is likely to occur soon. When the FFN test is negative, it means that there is little if any danger of preterm labor for 7-10 days.
So I am upping the date I want you all to hope for for me... make it Sunday Sept 23, as in this Sunday! Come on babies!!

33 and 1
copied from myspace.com
I saw my doc today and got some really good news... I no longer have to make my weekly trips into Boston for ultrasounds! YAY!! The people there are very cool and I love seeing the babies on the monitor but the trip takes over an hour without traffic, plus gas and parking! Its an all-day expensive affair!
Doc said since I am going to be 34wks next week she doesnt care if my cervix disappear at this point! (Some of you might recall all along she just wanted me to keep them in till 34wks!)
If I do not have them by 36wks then she will request another ultrasound to check their growth and weights so we will be prepared but she thinks I'll deliver by then.
I did my stress test and the vampires are 'perfect'... their words not mine (since they are mine I wouldnt expect anything less than perfection though haha). And they said I am experiencing hot flashes and 2+ minute long contractions in which I cant breath because I am now having 'real' contractions as opposed to the BH ones.
I am no more dilated than I was 2 weeks ago and I am awaiting the results of the ffn test, probably tomorrow.
And I gained 4lbs in 9 days!
She sent me home and told me to take some tylenol for the aches & pains, and some benadryl to get some damn sleep! Only weekly trips to see her now!
She also gave me her schedule for which days she is on-call at the hospital for the next 2.5wks so we are both hoping I go into labor on one of these days. So I am asking all of you to send me good vibes and 'will' me to go into labor on Sat Sept 29!
That is her next on-call day, and it would really work with everyone's schedule, no work or school, its an odd day (yeah I got something against even numbers!) and Sept has better birthstones than Oct haha. So lets make this happen!!

33wks tomorrow

Today was my ultrasound and I was seriously shocked by all the good news! The little porkas are 4lbs 8oz and 4lbs 9oz! They are both still head down which makes me very happy since there isnt enough room for them to flip again.
They were very cooperative today too, I was able to get a picture of their little faces and watched one sticking her little tongue in and out.
And my cervix is surprisingly holding up too. It measured 1.2 this time, only 2mm shorter than my last appt 12 days ago. This was most shocking given all my other 'discomforts'.
Now for the part where I complain.... I have not slept in days! I cant get comfortable, I cant breath, my contractions are now on the 'painful' side and I get a nasty hot flash with each one!
My belly 'dropped' and now my hips, back and legs are all sore all the time! I have little feet lodged in my ribs and I pee atleast twice an hour!!
I dont want to be an incubator anymore, I want them OUT! I want to sleep on my belly again! I want MY body back and all my organs in their right positions, I want the little feet out of my ribs, I want to be able to breath again and to hold my pee for more than an hour!
And I want to GET OFF MY DAMN COUCH!
I have a doc appt on Wed. I am going to eat my GINORMOUS ice cream sundae and watch Prison Break. G'nite all

So for those of you still reading... I had my weekly ultrasound on Wed....
Good news: babes are 4 lbs 4 oz and 4 lbs 2 oz. They are doing great!!
Bad news: cervix shrunk more, I am now less than 1.5 cm and I am starting to dilate. I went to see my doc after the u/s and she checked for dilation, I was 1cm dilated at that point, then sent me to hospital for the steroid shots and more monitoring and tests.
I just now got home from my 2 day stay and I am on more strict bedrest, pretty much cant do anything but lay here. My sacs are tight so they are worried about those breaking and my contractions are very frequent. Good thing I got the steroid shots!!!
