15months

Sunday the girls will be 15mo old and a lot has been happening!

They both have all 4 molars, Maia got 2 more bottom teeth, and Sofie got 1. Maia now has 12 teeth and Sofie has 11, this is the first time Maia has had more teeth than Sofia.

We successfully made the transition to one nap. They go down anywhere between 1130-12, some days they sleep an hour and other days almost 3hrs. Completely unpredictable!

Another thing that is unpredictable is their wakeup time in the morning. Some mornings they sleep until the ideal time of 6-630, no problems, and other mornings one or both them will wakeup as early as 4am. Good thing for what I have declared: Family Naptime!

They have had a vocabulary explosion, some new words are:
  • Thank you
  • Where's momma
  • cheese, peas, snack, chicken, toast
  • ears, nose, tattoo
  • dance, bang, boom
  • toys, light
They also make a whole bunch of animal sounds such as cow, pig, sheep, kitty, puppy, fish, snake, and monkey.

Last week, Auntie J and I turned their carseats. Here is a comparison from when we first put them in these carseats at 7mo and turning them at 15mo.

Maia at 7mo and at 15mo

Sofia at 7mo and at 15mo

Last week music class resumed and today we brought Auntie Brittany with us.
Monday we colored for the first time, Maia thought they were drumsticks and Sofie thought they were edible.

Sofia is officially a walker. She can walk from one end of the room to the other if she chooses to, she can stop and start again, and she can bend over to get somethin and resume walking.

Maia took her first few unassisted steps last week, not for her mother, not even for her Nana or Auntie, but for her physical therapist. Typical!
The little monkey is climbing on everything. She climbs onto her storytime chair and stands up, she tries to climb over the gates and cage when she is barefoot, and climbed up the back stairs on her first attempt wearing a snowsuit! This is going to get interesting.

Wow! That is some vocabulary! Sounds like they are doing great. I am going to try having them color in highchairs next time. Had not thought of that.
